At the Rededication Ceremony named crosses for each person listed on the memorial were pressed in place in a small box containing turf that stood on the octagonal base stone.
Where possible these were placed by people who now live in the house that those being remembered lived in during their time in Westhorpe.
Simon and Mary Gee of Church Farm for brothers Alfred and Frederick Baker who lived there.
Martin Little and Suzanne Beeke of Church Cottages for Robert and Thomas Moss, brothers from Town Yard.
Phil Vaughan-Williams of Church Cottage for Harry Davey, also of Town Yard.
David Barker for Charles Fountain, a farmer from West Farm.
Mr Peter Smith on behalf of his wife, Hazel, for William Seeley. Hazel is William's granddaughter.
Joan Gosling of Rookery Farm for Robert Sykes. Rookery Farm was Robert's family home.
Alison Weston of The Old Crown for Samuel Hawes. Samuel's father was the innkeeper there during Samuel's childhood.
Gilly Christian for Harry Turner whom we now know married into a Town Yard family.
Chris Scates for Frederick Lingley, son of a local thatcher.
Paul Smith for Owen Williams and James Mees for Gerald Kemp, brothers- in-law, whose family lived in Town Yard.
